Tungsten powder

		Grades of Tungsten Powders
This is a very convenient substance for sintering in specialized
furnaces, followed by the molding of compact tungsten products. The main
technological characteristics of the powder of this metal are fraction
and purity. The same characteristics affect pricing. The following
		brands are currently distinguished:

PVN. This is a powder with a low degree of activity (the average grain
size of the fraction is from 3.5 to 6 microns) PVV. Powder with a high
degree of activity (average grain size of the fraction is from 0.8 to
1.7 μm) PVT. Powder for technical use (average grain size fraction is
from 3.5 to 6 microns) VP. Chemically pure powder for predictable
chemical reactions (average grain size is 3.5 to 6 microns)
		Where is tungsten powder used?
Its application is quite wide, so only the main areas will be described:

The manufacture of hard alloys that are used for mechanical
metalworking. It is an integral component of tool steel and high-speed
alloys. Using tungsten powders, it is possible to manufacture stellites
and other alloys with increased heat resistance and wear resistance. In
the production of incandescent lighting technology, as well as tungsten
wire, which can act as a cathode for electrolysis processes. For the
production of tungsten foil, tapes, sheets or plates.
It is the basis for the creation of tungsten carbide.
The main impurity in the powders is oxygen, which ranges from 0.05 to
		0.3% of the mixture volume.

Melting of this material is carried out only in electric arc furnaces
with a consumable electrode. The price of tungsten powder depends on the
volume of the purchased lot, as well as on its brand.
