Samarium   metal

Samarium is a metal element with a chemical symbol of Sm and an
atomic number of 62. This is a medium-hard silver-white metal that is
easily oxidized in the air. As a typical part of the lanthanide series,
samarium is usually assumed to have an oxidation state of +3. The most
common compounds of samarium(II) are SmO, SmS, SmSe and SmTe. Samarium
has no significant biological effects, only slight toxicity

		Application field
It is used in the manufacture of laser materials, microwave and infrared
equipment, and also has more important uses in the atomic energy
		industry.
Used in the electronics and ceramic industries. Samarium is easy to
magnetize but difficult to demagnetize, which means that there will be
important applications in solid-state components and superconducting
		technology in the future.
