Selenides and tellurides
Selenides and tellurides are obtained by the metal's direct interaction
with selenium and tellurium, or by precipitating H2Se or H2Te out of its
		saline solution.
Selenides and tellurides of the alkali metals are soluble in water. In
the presence of air, solutions are usually stained by oxidation, which
occurs with the release of selenium and tellurium and the formation of
long-wave esters and polytellurides (similar to polysulfides).
Selenides and tellurides of heavy metals do not dissolve in water.
