Selenate and telluride
		
		Selenite and tellurite salts (selenite and tellurite) are obtained by 
		the action of chlorine in a solution of selenite and tellurite or by the 
		melting of SeO2 and TeO2 with nitrate. They are strong oxidants and easy 
		to reduce. Selenates have properties similar to sulfates, but tellurates 
		are quite different from them.
		
		Thus, barium BaTeO4 telluride (unlike BaSO4 and BaSeO4) is released from 
		a solution of crystalline water and is readily soluble in hydrochloric 
		acid.
		
		Tellurates do not form alum salts, which also distinguishes them from 
		selenates and sulfates.
